We are committed to providing environmentally responsible services to our customers, workforce and the wider community.
Our policy is to support and promote environmentally sustainable practices throughout our business through compliance with relevant environmental legislation, conducting environmental assessments and minimising adverse environmental impacts at project sites. We have adopted a range of environmental best practices such as using recycled paper and energy efficient lighting, collection and use of rainwater and employing local people.
We also support environmentally sustainable practices such as waste reduction, emission control, protection of ecosystems, limited land clearing and energy efficiency consistent with current technical knowledge.
We strive to develop mutually beneficial relationships with the community through supporting local businesses, employing local people and encouraging all employees to support the local community through volunteering. We commit to returning 0.5% of total annual revenue back to the community by way of donations and sponsorships.
We currently partner with and sponsor Mission Beach State School, Tully Rugby League, Mission Beach Film Festival, Mission Beach Business and Tourism, Lions Club and State Emergency Services (SES).
We recognise the importance of the people with which we interact and are committed to the personal development and training of our employees and stakeholders.
As part of our People Policy we invest in employee training, multi skilling and apprenticeship programs. Tropical Coast Builders currently employs five apprentices at different stages of their training, including mature age apprentices. We recognise and reward individual contributions within the business, and support a work and life balance by enabling employees to work flexible hours and operate from home.
